Amesbury Massachusetts

The Town of Amesbury is in Essex County, near the New Hampshire state line on Lake Gardner between Salisbury and Merrimac along Interstate 495 near Maudslay State Park. Nearby are Lake Attitash, John Greenleaf Whittier Home, and the Amesbury Ski Area.

Mary Baker Eddy spent part of 1868 and 1870 in Amesbury as a houseguest. Her study and investigations during this time contributed to her discoveries relating to the Christian Science Movement.
