30 miles of trails cross over 10,000 acres of forested hills, swamps, beaver ponds and streams. Grouse, turkey, deer, bear, bobcat and other wild animals make this forest their home. A variety of wild plants and flowers are also found in this lush forest. The Appalachian Trail intersects the forest's trails near Benedict Pond and offers spectacular views. The 1.5 mile loop trail around the pond is a must in any season and campers are welcome year-round.
