Located near Cape Cod Lighthouse, the Highland House Museum is one of North Truros best known landmarks and a classic example of a turn-of-the-century summer hotel. A visit to the museum affords a fascinating insight into the everyday life of the past, from the time of the Pamet Indians to the early days of this century, when electricity and paved roads were unknown in Truro.

The Museum contains 17th Century firearms, shipwreck mementos, early fishing and whaling gear, household tools, farming implements, furniture, Sandwich glass, even a Pirates chest and more. Visitors can also tour the Cape Cod Highland Lighthouse. The lighthouse includes an interpretive center, and offers panoramic views of the area from the observation deck at the top of the tower.
