The Norwottuck Rail Trail is a 8.5 mile paved trail crossing the Connecticut River Valley from Amherst to Northampton. Motorized vehicles and horses are prohibited. Both ends of the path offer free parking for trail users. The level terrain of this path allows safe passage for pedestrians, wheelchairs, joggers, skaters, bicyclists, and cross-country skiers
