Located on the banks of the historic Susquehanna Flats, the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum preserves the centuries-old historical and cultural legacy of waterfowling and decoy-making on the Chesapeake Bay. The museum houses one of the finest collections of working and decorative Chesapeake Bay decoys ever assembled in a series of exhibits ranging from single display cases to room-sized waterfowling displays; 1200 decoys and decorative carvings relate various periods of this folk art.
A Carvers' Workshop displays tools used in the painstaking process of carving and painting, as well as decoy models in various stages of preparatory work. The museum also offers tours, public lectures and demonstrations, and other special events throughout the year; call for a current schedule. Open daily, except major holidays.
