Bangor

Bangor is located in Penobscot County, of which it is the county seat, northeast of Augusta between Orono and Bucksport along US Highway 1A on the banks of the Penobscot River near Penobscot Bay and the Atlantic ocean.

Home of the University of Maine campus.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 30,508, a decrease of 2,673 since 1990.
