Dr. Moses Mason House Museum

This is a beautifully restored home. Once the home of Dr. Moses Mason, U.S. representative from Maine, who served from 1833 to 1837. Built in 1813 this nine-room home is furnished in its period style. Some special interests include the murals depicting seascapes and foliage. These paintings were either painted by artist Rufus Poter or his nephew Jonathan Poor. There are changing exhibits displayed and research facilities are available.
