The Kennebec River flows from
Moosehead Lake in a southerly course and enters the Atlantic ocean near
Bath. Its total length is about 150 miles. The principal tributary, the
Androscoggin River, joins the Kennebec near Bath.
Augusta, the state capital, is also on the Kennebec.
