St John's Abbey and University

The Benedictine monastery and university campus include a church, library, science center and other buildings designed by Marcel Breuer. The Hill Monastic Manuscript Library is one of the world's largest collections of medieval documents and books. The most striking exterior feature of the Abbey-University Church, which is noted for its unusual contemporary design, is a 112-foot bell banner. Guided tours are available by appointment. Located on the banks of Lake Sagatagan.
