Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site

The splendor of this 15-room antebellum home reflects the style of the grand mansions that were once a common sight along the Great River Road. Built in 1859 by William and Amanda Hunter, the house contains many of its original furnishings as well as personal possessions of the family that occupied it. Guided tours of the house are available.
