Comments: We just got back from a 3 night stay in one of the cabins at Paul B. Johnson state park. The cabins are older, but clean. The bathroom was clean with newer fixtures. From the cabin, you had beautiful lake views, and could watch the boaters whiz by while sitting outside. There are a couple of designated swimming areas, some people in our party swam there and they loved it. The swimming area located by the gate house has a sandy area where a lot of people were laying out. As the other commenter stated, the staff was rude and unhelpful. We asked if there were any nature trails, and were told there were not. On the way out, we saw a big sign that said "Nature Trail" with an arrow pointing in the direction it was located in. We would definitely like to return to this state park, a gem just two and half hour drive away from our house!

Comments: We stayed 3 nights in the cabins at Paul B. Johnson State Park. They are rustic, yet clean. The bed linens were a little old and stained, so you might want to bring your own. Also, bring your own coffee maker, it was not provided. All cabins have a beautiful view of the lake. We went swimming in the lake. The water is pretty brown and our swimsuits were stained afterwards. The staff were not friendly or helpful. Not what I would expect from otherwise typically friendly southern Mississippi folks. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend it for a quiet, rustic-style vacation.
