Discovered by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805, this is one of the largest freshwater springs in the world. It is the site of the Roe River, which lays claim to the title of "World's Shortest River," which is also claimed by the D River in Oregon.

Giant Springs flows at 7.9 million gallons per hour at a constant temperature of 54 degrees. More than a quarter million people visit the springs each year, to see the springs and view a variety of bird life. There is a group picnic site and visitor center.

The park is north of Great Falls on Hwy 87, and a mile east on River Drive.
