Glacier Chaser/Environmental Education

The Glacier Chase is a chairlift/gondola ride that carries visitors to the top of The Big Mountain in Whitefish. You may choose to ride the enclosed gondola or an open air chair, each providing a spectacular view of Glacier National Park, Waterton International Peace Park, Flathead Lake and Flathead Valley. The Environmental Education Center is located at the Summit House on top of Big Mountain. The center offers an educational experience, featuring a learning tree named Sally Snag and 20 different types of animal skins including a grizzly bear and a mountain lion. The summer season runs from late May through late September.
