Musselshell River |
This northward flowing river in central Montana was discovered by the Lewis and Clark Expedition during their exploration of the West in 1804. It originates in the Little Belt Mountains in the Lewis and Clark National Forest and flows eastward, parallel to Highway 12, for many miles before turing abruptly north near Melstone and flowing into the Missouri River.
