National Bison Range |
Established in 1908 to protect one of the most important remaining herds of American bison, the range is home to about 400 to 500 of the great shaggy animals that roam the 19000 acres of natural grassland. Other inhabitants are birds, whitetail and mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep and pronghorns. The range is located between Missoula and Polson at the south end of the Flathead Valley.
The entrance is located off Highway 212 at Moiese.
