The
Ravalli County Museum, housed in the former
Ravalli County Courthouse, was built by A.J Gibson in 1900. It served as the courthouse until 1979, when a vote of the people saved it from the wreckers ball. It now houses permanent collections of American Ind ian articles, an antique kitchen, miner/trapper room, and a veteran's displays. ALso Ernst Peterson photo exhibits and the Ricketts Museum commemorating the development of the Rocky Mountain Laboratory.
Open year round, the hours are 10:00 to 4:00 Thursday through Saturday and Monday, and 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday.
