Brevard

Brevard is located in Transylvania County (of which it is the county seat) between Asheville and Lake Toxaway along US Highway 64 near Pisgah Forest, Looking Glass Rock/Looking Glass Falls, the French Broad River, and within the Pisgah National Forest.

The town was incorporated in July, 1868 and named in honor of Dr. Ephriam Brevard, a Revolutionary war hero/patriot and the author of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence in 1775.
