On the grounds of the Latta Plantation Park, this is the restored 1800 river plantation house of James Latta, a successful merchant. The two-story Federal-style house is furnished in period; architectural highlights include a finely detailed staircase and elaborate mantels. Outbuildings include the kitchen, a smokehouse, provisions barn, pioneer cabin, wash house and well house. Guided tours are available. Open Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday 1:30-5pm, March-December. Tours depart Tuesday-Friday at 1:30 and 3:30pm, Saturday & Sunday at 2,3 and 4pm; closed holidays.
