Billings County

Billings county is located in southwestern North Dakota one county removed from the Montana state line. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 1,066, a decrease of 42 over the 1990 census.

The county is right in the heart of the North Dakota Badlands and has several points of interest for locals and visitors alike. The dominating feature is the Theodore Roosevelt National Park (south unit) which is backed up by Sully's Creek State Primative Park on the banks of the [limirvme] just south of I-94. For history buffs, the De Mores Historic Site is located just southwest of Medora, the county seat.
