A variety of subjects are featured in this complex, which includes the Lied IMAX Theater. There is a natural history collection with fossil and mineral displays, American Indian items, bird exhibits, including on whopping cranes, and more than 35 natural habitat groups. Pioneer artifacts include firearms and vehicles. The Lied IMAX Theatre features films about nature, science, history, and the American space program on a five-story-high, 70-foot-wide screen. There is also a display about Kool-Aid, which was invented in Hastings in 1927.
