Murdock is located in Cass County east of Lincoln, between Weeping Water and Lincoln off of Hwy 1, near the Platte River.The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 319, an increase of 52 since 1990. Murdock is part of the Omaha, Nebraska-Iowa metro area. Established in 1890 and named in honor of a Mr. Murdock, a member of the town site company for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad.
