Pender is located in
Thurston County (of which it is the county seat), southeast of
Wayne, between
Bancroft and Thuston in the Omaha Indian Reservation. Also positioned west of the
Missouri River and the South Dakota State line.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,247, an increase of 39 since 1990.
Named after director of the Chicago, St.Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha Railroad Company, John Pender.
