The New Hampshire Farm Museum, incorporated in 1970, acquired the historic Jones Farm in Milton, NH in 1979 - ending a ten-year search for a permanent home for its extensive collection of farm tools and implements. The Jones Farm, listed on the Na tional Register of Historic Places consists of one of the finest set of connected farm structures in New Hampshire. The buildings, extending 275 feet, date from 1780 to 1900 and present a nearly complete profile of domestic and agricultural architec ture. Located along the hillside known as Plummer's Ridge, the Jones Farm was part of a clearly identifiable "farm family neighborhood". The Museum chronicles the experiences of traditional farmers meeting the challenges of a changing agrarian socie ty moving toward and through the tremendous demographic and technological changes of the late nineteenth century.
