Cattus Island County Park |
The 500-acre park is really a peninsula jutting out into Barnegat Bay and is the quintessential transition zone between land and sea, with salt marsh blending into pine-oak uplands. The Cooper Environmental Center presents exhibits that relate to the area. Trails wind through the preserve, and boat and van tours are offered in the summer months.
The park is accessible from Exit 82 on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River.
