On Rte 29, 14 miles from Parrsboro. Family-oriented centre depicts rich heritage of the Minas Basin timber and ship-building industries. Archives and professionally designed exhibits in main pavilion, a restored Methodist church, built in 1837. Working blacksmith shop, historical lighthouse. French spoken. Open 23 May-30 Sept, daily 10am-6pm. Admission: adults $2, students $1, children under six free; family $5 (two adults and children under 12). VISA accepted, non-smoking, wheelchair accessible, picnic area, tea room, takeout, bus tours welcome, gift shop, restrooms.
