Delaware Lake is located in central Ohio primarily in
Delaware County and was created by the damming of the
Olentangy River about 5 miles north of
Delaware.
The lake was finished in 1948 to aid in flood control and now is the focal point of Delaware State Park. Among the lake's fish species are largemouth bass and catfish.
Waterskiing and tubing as well as unsupervised swimming are allowed in designated areas. A full-service marina is available for boaters as is a boat launch area.
