Lima

Lima is located in northwestern Ohio Allen County (of which it is the county seat) on the banks of the Ottawa River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 42,382, a decrease of 3,171 since 1990.

Ohio State University at Lima is located here for those seeking higher education. Other attractions include the Allen County Museum. In addition, golfers can choose from among Golf At Sugar Creek, Oak's Golf Club and Springbrook Golf Club, each a public 18-hole course; Tamarac Golf Club which is a semi-private club with an open guest policy and featuring a regulation 18 and a shorter par 3-style layout; Hawthorne Hills Golf Course, a public facility offering a standard 18 and an executive 9-hole course with a par of 32 and Lost Creek Country Club and Shawnee Country Club, both private clubs but with a reciprocal guest agreement for members of other clubs.
