Founded in 1804, Ohio University is a public university offering a variety of graduate and undergraduate programs. More than 15,000 full-time undergraduate students attend classes at the university's 1700-acre campus.
The vast majority of students are from Ohio, but all other states are represented, along with many foreign countries. A number of fraternities and sororities are active. The university competes in several intercollegiate sports. Popular majors include elementary education, communication, and journalism.
