Carroll county is located in eastern Ohio and uses Carrollton as its county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 29,286, an increase of 2,765 over the 1990 census.
Points of interest within the county include the historic McCook House State Memorial in Carrollton and Atwood Lodge, a resort facility on the southern shores of sizeable Lake Atwood in western Carroll county. Leesville Lake, in the southwest section of the county also provides plenty of recreational opportunity for outdoor types.
