Broken Bow Lake |
Broken Bow Lake is located in southeastern Oklahoma in McCurtain County north of Broken Bow east of U.S. Highway 259. The 14,200-acre lake has 180 miles of shoreline and is the focal point of Ouachita National Forest, Beavers Bend State Park and Hochatown State Park.
It was formed by the damming of the Mountain Fork of the Little River and has a chain of islands that once were mountaintops. The newly created cover made for a boon in sport fishing. The crystal-clear lake is now noted for its quality bass, carp, channel catfish, crappie, drum, perch, trout and walleye.
