Chouteau is located in northeastern Oklahoma in Mayes County about 25 miles east of Tulsa along U.S. Highway 69 about 3 miles north of U.S. Highway 412 and 5 miles west of the Grand (Neosho) River. Snowdale State Park is situated about 20 miles to the northeast.
