Rentiesville is located in eastern Oklahoma in McIntosh County south-southwest of Muskogee along U.S. Highway 69.
The town is near Honey Springs Battlefield Park where the largest battle of the Civil War in Oklahoma took place. The battle was also the first in which Union African Americans officially fought alongside First Nation, Hispanic and Caucasian soldiers.
