Thackerville

Thackerville is located in southern Oklahoma in southern Love County south of Ardmore between the Red River and Marietta, along U.S. Highway 77. The town is literally surrounded by the river and could just as easily been a part of Texas had the river taken a slightly different course. Nearby recreation can be found at Lake Murray Resort Park on Lake Murray, about 20 miles north and to the east of Interstate 35 and Lake Texoma Resort Park on Lake Texoma, about 30 miles to the east.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 323, an increase of 33 since 1990.
