Verdigris River

The Verdigris River rises in Kansas and flows in a southeasterly direction entering Oklahoma to the east of U.S. Highway 169 north of Nowata emptying into the Arkansas River near Fort Gibson. The river flows into and out of Lake Oologah south to just north of Tulsa and then southeast to the Arkansas. Its estimated length is about 270 miles with just less than half within the borders of Oklahoma.
