One of Ontario's most historic cities. Chatham was a terminus of the underground railroad which allowed about 5,000 slaves to escape to Canada in 1850-61. Events include The Festival of Nations, the Tartan Sertoma Supreme Highland Games and Glimmer on the Thames. Recreation activities include birdwatching, water sports, fishing, hiking, and hunting.
