Interstate 5

Search Visit Oregon

Interstate 5 is one of two Interstates crossing Oregon, the other being Interstate 84 from Portland to the Idaho border. Interstate 5 travels in the other direction, following fairly closely the old route of US 99. Beginning in Portland, the highway heads south through Salem, past Albany, and virtually splits Eugene and Springfield at the southern end of the Willamette Valley. Entering more rugged terrain, the highway goes through Roseburg and Grants Pass before reaching Medford and finally Ashland near the California border.
