Between June and October, this 130-mile byway offers an alternate route from <a href="http://www.ohwy.com/or/i/i84.htm">Interstate 84</a> from <a href="http://www.ohwy.com/or/h/heppner.htm">Heppner</a> to <a href="http://www.ohwy.com/or/b/bakercit.htm">Baker City</a>. Several sites are of state and national significance, including a national historic district, <a href="http://www.ohwy.com/or/o/oregontr.htm">Oregon Trail</a> sites, the Wild and Scenic John Day River, the North Fork John Day Wilderness and remnants of historic mining and early settlements.<P>    <P>
