Philip Foster's place on Eagle Creek was the last stop before reaching
Oregon City and the end of the
Oregon Trail. Weary emigrants could rest, buy food, or, if very lucky, be invited to share Mrs. Foster's home-cooked meals before moving down the road.
The last Foster House, built in 1882, still stands and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
