In the early 1900's, this busy community was the trading center for products entering and leaving Morrow County. Midway between Heppner and Ione, this agricultural center is home to the county school district offices, with the county airport nearby. Blackhorse and Willow creeks converge here as do highways 74 and 207.

Lexington is also situated on the Blue Mountain Scenic Byway, near the Umatilla National Forest, Umatilla Nat'l Wildlife Refuge Complex, Columbia River parks, Cutsforth Park. Hunting & fishing of all kinds are popular recreational activities throughout the Lexington area.
