Rufus is located east of The Dalles in Sherman County, between Biggs and Arlington along Interstate 84 and the Columbia River.

The town of Rufus is conveniently located between the John Day River and Deschutes River. Many Outdoor Activities are easily available throughout the area. A popular destination near Rufus is the Heritage Landing and the Columbia River Gorge Nat'l Scenic Area.
