This small Oregon Coast community in Lincoln County is located east of Waldport along Hwy 34. The town of Tidewater derives its name from the fact that it is located at the highest point of tidal influence along the Alsea River.
The Tidewater post office was established April 9, 1878, with Thomas Russell as the first postmaster.
There are many popular Outdoor Activities in the area to choose from such as Fishing, where salmon and steelhead runs are often very rewarding.
