This small Douglas County community is located east of Canyonville along Highway 227 and the banks of the South Umpqua River. Tiller is also situated at the southwestern edge of the Umpqua National Forest.Tiller was named for pioneer settler, Aaron Tiller. The post office was established October 15, 1902, with Alfred B. Marquam becoming the postmaster.
