Columbia County

Located on the Oregon Coast & Portland Metropolitan Area

Search Visit Oregon

Established in January of 1854, the county was carved out of Washington County and is the first county downstream from Portland on the Oregon side of the Columbia River.

The county is connected to Astoria to the west and to Portland by Highway 30, which runs through the county's major towns, including Scappoose, St Helens, the county seat, Rainier and Clatskanie.

Although close to Portland, we include it in both the Portland and Oregon Coast Regions.
