The Columbia River Highway - The Old Oregon Trail Highway

Check out the new mobile version of Online Highways with compact, up-to-the-minute information for Portland.

From its inception at Astoria to Portland, Highway 30 leads an independent life. At Portland, it joins Interstate 84. From the point where it leaves the Columbia River, it is also known as the Old Oregon Trail Highway.

In parts of Baker County, the old sections of Highway 30 still are used and sometimes cover a course several miles from Interstate 84. Both Highway 30 and Interstate 84 cross into Idaho at Ontario.
