Founded in 1857, this is a public institution and a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The university offers programs in fine and liberal arts, business, engineering, health science and teacher preparation. There are 3 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. The 585 acre campus is in a small town 18 miles south of Erie. Including residence halls, there are 42 buildings. Active fraternities, sororities and over 123 clubs and organizations are on campus.
