Vieux Palais de Justice

The oldest courthouse in Montreal, the Vieux Palais de Justice was constructed between 1849 and 1856. An earlier courthouse, built around 1800, had occupied the same location. Since the opening of the new Palais to its left, the old Palais has become an annex to the Hotel de Ville.
