The present Magnolia Dale structure was probably built around 1830 by Samuel Brooks. The home is located on land which was a part of a royal land grant to Peter Youngblood in 1762. Historical documentation suggests that the site of Youngblood's home is where Magnolia Dale now stands. The house has been restored and is now the headquarters of the Edgefield County Historic Society. Tours may be arranged by request ($2 contribution requested) and contains many very interesting artifacts all with fascinating histories. The house is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and weekends by appointment.
