St. Michael's Episcopal Church is the oldest church building in the Charleston, South Carolina. The church is named for the Archangel Michael- traditional warrior and guardian of the Heavenly Heights.
Construction of the church was completed in 1761. This church is one of the few city churches in America to retain its original design. This church was in exhistence when George Washington worshipped during his tour of the South in 1791.
St. Michael's is open at 8:00 a.m. for Holy Communion and at 8:45 a.m. for Children's Communion.
