Brookings

On the Big Sioux River, Brookings is located in Brookings County (of which it is the county seat) north of Sioux Falls between Huron and the Minnesota state line. It lies on US 14 and I-29 near Lake Campbell and Lake Whitewood, in the Glacial Lakes & Prairies Region.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 17,138, an increase of 868 since 1990.
