Located on West Outer Drive, this is a hands-on cultural center devoted mainly to the heritage of southern Appalachia. Twelve exhibit areas include three reconstructed and furnished 1880s Appalachian log cabins as well as items from Oak Ridge and around the world. Open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 1:30pm-4:30pm in September through May; hours vary the rest of the year.
